Finding Inspiration in Every Turn
Black Wolf Racing is a project of Chris and Christa Maier that began when we started the process of organising the Van Isle 360 International Yacht Race.
Chris and Christa Maier have been long time sailors and volunteers in the sailing community of British Columbia and long time admirers of the Van Isle 360 Race. Christa raced the 2001 edition in HMCS Oriole. Chris, came late to the race taking part in 2019 and then as A/RO in 2023 and PRO in 2025.

We are members of the Canadian Forces Sailing Association in Esquimalt BC. We have two daughters that are involved in dinghy racing at CFSA and the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.
We are so very excited to follow in the footsteps of legendary Race Organisers Jeff and Sylvia Motley of Blast Performance Sailing. Since January we have been trying to learn as much as we can from them, and are honoured that we can offer the 2027 Edition of the Van Isle 360 as the Black Wolf Edition.
We look forward to more learning from the masters and perpetuating this amazing race.
